Three Burrs.

This delightful commission was for the Burr family. Each piece, rather than being a portrait, was an illustration of the story behind each Burr daughter’s name: Elizabeth, Rhiannon and Geneveive. Each is surrounded by a garland that included each girl’s favourite flowers and insects. There is also a wren in each piece (their mother’s favourite bird) and wheat (their father is a brilliant and well known baker). The research into the history and legend of three powerful female icons made this an absolute joy to work on.
